Scotiabank Tower is a 7-storey (26 m) office building overlooking the Plaza Republica de Peru that houses the headquarters of The Bank of Nova Scotia's operations in El Salvador. Scotiabank El Salvador S.A. had its origins on October 8, 1997 with the creation of a strategic alliance between Scotiabank, a Canadian bank with more than 125 years of experience in over 50 countries worldwide, and Savings Metropolitanos S.A. (Ahorromet), a financial institution with more than 25 years of experience in the El Salvador market.

In January 2005, Bank of Commerce of El Salvador and Scotiabank El Salvador combined operations and integrated their resources into a single banking corporation.
