 lake, interesting place

It has an area of 7,500 hectares with 11 meters deep in the center and an average of 6 in the rest, but it reaches 22 meters into the channel that is between Agaltepec Island and the town of Catemaco. It's located on the bottom of a valley between San Martín Tuxtla volcano and the Sierra de Santa Marta, whose streams feed it. Its irregular shore about 50 km has remnants of volcanic cones. It has small volcanic islands, one of which (the Tanaxpillo) is inhabited by macaque monkeys.
It's a very important place for ecotourism and fishing.

ok guys, let me tell you that one of the main problems in this region is PEMEX, the national oil company, which constantly has accidents, and puts people, flora and fauna at risk due to the bad management of the company...oil is everywhere, many NGOs work to stop this...lots of people are ill due to the long exposition to oil and burning pipes
