Reventador Volcano

Ecuador / Pichincha / Cayambe /
 park, volcano, interesting place

Elevation: 3562 meters (11,686 feet)

Reventador is an active volcano in Ecuador. In this image it is obscured by clouds; hopefully a future image will show it clearly. The southern tip of the caldera wall is just visible. In November 2002 a large eruption deforested the area around the volcano, sending an ash cloud into the atmosphere that reached Quito. It is 3,562 meters tall.
