  • Barangay Malinao, traces its beginning in the early 12th century, when it was a vast flatland, occupied by the early taga-ilogs ( a term refering to the early settlers along the pasig river). In the 14th century, malay traders intermarried with the local inhabitants, propagating islam. Under the reign of Sultana Kalangitan, Malinao, which was a part of the center of pasig which was ruled under a sultanate, got its name from the creeks which were flowing in the area which was pristine and potable. Later, during the spanish period, the area was made into a sitio, which later became a barrio covering the entire pasig catholic church and cemetery, the old bukid at the back of the cemetery and the proximal vicinity covering Jabson St. and E. Jacinto St. Today, it is a busy thoroughfare seving as a gateway leading to the public market and city hall and a gateway going in or out of the City of Pasig.
