Marnehuizen in the Marnewaard polder area is part of the military complex Willem Lodewijk. It is the largest urban military training area in Europe. The complex costed 14 million euro. The village has several streets with houses, a railroad with train station, a municipal office building, a bank, a supermarket, warehouses and an underground sewer system. The army can practice realistic combat training with courses in urban warfare. The area is closed for public.
