Ambika Bhawani Temple Aami Saran: The place is situated about 37 km east of Chapra and 4 km west of Dighwara. It is said that in ancient times there was a Dirgh dwar near Dighwara Railway station and the place came to be known as Dighwara. In Aami there is an old temple known as Ambika Asthan . Near the temple there is a garden and a deep and broad well in which water remains all over the year and it never dries up. The believer from far off come to pay oblation in the established in her memory over this Yagya Kunda. Yagya Kunda is also called MANNAT Kund. The believers from far off come to pay oblation in the Navratra of April and October. Water offered here by lacs of People vanishes in the Kunda.....

  • I visited Ambika Sthan in 2007 for my Upnayan Sanskar with my family. we all fammily members offered prayer and made holly dip into the Ganga. there is a rely holly place Panditjee helped alot there.but much more development work and cleanliness is required to make the place attractive for the tourism points of view.

It is aka Ma Ambika Asthan as it has a temple dedicated to Ma Ambika Bhawani. Legends connect this temple with Lord Shiva and Ma Sati. In d early ages,it is said, king Daksha performed a Yajna (sacrifice) but did not invite Shiva to whom his daughter Sati was married. In grief dat such an insult should have been offered to her husband, Sati threw herself into the sacrificial fire; Shiva, wild wid rage transfixed her dead body on the point of his trident and rushed hither and thither thru d world, which was threatened wid destruction. But Vishnu, d preserver, came to the rescue and flung his discus (chakra) at the body of Sati and cut it to pieces. These pieces fell scattered over d earth n' every place where any of them fell became a sanctuary. One portion is said to hv dropped on d spot where d temple now stands, n' close by is pointed out d site of d sacrificial fire (yajna-kund). JAI MA AMBIKA
