Sukwi Dam

The Sukwi Dam was bult across the Sukwi river at a point just before it flows into the Mzigwane river. The daw was built during the Rhodesian era. The dams were absolute crucial to the agri-economy of the area because geographic topography of Zimbabwe- Rhodesia is like a roof of a building; the high plateau at the central backbone in the middle of the country runing from Plumtree to bulawayo, Gwelo, Harare to Mutare. the gutters in the low veld of the Zambezi and Limpopo valleys. The rainfall in just 3 months of the year and quickly drains away to the Indian Ocean. The idea was to dam all the rivers and retain the water for agriculture for the rest of the dry seasons of the year. The whole agriculture economy of the country is based on this water cycle
