  These appartment buildings, quite high for the standards of Geneva, were built in the 60's when the city was growing very quickly due to the immigration from Italy and Spain. It was then thought that Geneva would soon count 600'000 inhabitants. Today, 40 years later, the canton of Geneva only has about 440'000 inhabitants.
