The "Hennery," or dovecote, was the first structure built on the island. The bottom portion of the tower houses an elevated water tank which supplied water to the island structures. It was topped with a pigeon house - where they collected fancy fowl. It was also the first of many towers that were to rise on this and other of the nearby islands.
