It's a long way down from the main road to reach the Maharees, but well worth it for many reasons, not least a visit to Marilyn and Michael Spillane's great traditional pub - they work hard at both the food and hospitality and have earned loyal following as a result. There's a tempting display of salads and desserts to choose from and seafood stars on the menu - mussels grilled with garlic breadcrumbs, crab claws served in shell with brown bread and a cocktail dipping sauce, fresh and wild salmon in salads and open sandwiches, scampi made from Dingle prawns. And there’s plenty for meat-lovers too, such as chargrilled steaks and chicken dishes (in the evening), some vegetarian dishes and some with child-appeal too.
