This was a private Confucian academy founded by the renowned Joseon dynasty scholar Yi Yulgok (1536-1584), and was where he taught his disciples. This school is located in the famous "Sokdamgugok" scenic area (meaning "rocky pools of nine valleys"), on the Sokdam River.
