The bridge was designed by a team led by Zeno Grajek. It was built between 1968-1972. Its compact design aimed to interfere as little as possible in Wawel environment. Giving his name was associated with the decision taken in 1972, to rebuild the Grunwald Monument destroyed during WWII.
The bridge is 153 meters long and 31.40 meters wide.
