The city of El Affoun is one of the oldest villages in the east of the Nile. Its history dates back to about 500 years. It was famous for the people of science and the Koran, such as Sheikh Idris Ibn al-Arbab and Sheikh Almqabli and others, and was famous for the best agricultural, trade and education.
