The building was the old station building. The Cheshire Lines Committee had a station here to serve the Village of Cheadle. The station was renamed "Cheadle North" in 1950 and closed in 1964 as part of the Beeching cuts.

The Cheshire Line Tavern is a popular meeting place for many groups and organisations. Offering well presented good quality food and a good selection of ales.
