Clinton is often divided by locals into 'the South End' and 'the North End'. The North End is largely residential in comparison to the South End, which contains most of Clinton's industrial base, as well as the majority of its larger commercial operations (including department stores, 'super' grocery stores, large car dealerships, and so on). The South End also encompasses the Downtown area.
