This University is a Best University in the field of Physical Education.
This historic institute dates back to 1957. And soon it's going to celeberate 50th anniversary in 2007. Started with a noble intention of preparing Physical Education teachers as was known as LAKSHMIBAI COLLEGE OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION (LCPE) under the watchfull eyes of Legendary, Late P.M.Joseph. Since then it has not looked back. The college produced gerat physical education personnals and the production is ever on. It was renamend LAKSHMIBAI NATIONAL COLLEGE OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION (LNCPE) and it became an Autonomous College. We finished our entire education there under this nomeclature. Later it got the status of deemed university and then it was LNIPE, now it is known as LNUPE. It has a sprawling 150+ acre campus and has been maintained magnificiently. I am proud allimni of this university. Its high learning center for anyone who wants to explore Physical Education and Sports Sciences. It has a complete sports enfrastructure, new Library that has vast collection of books and research material, adaquately equipped Labs, well designed campus and above all a spirited atmosphere.
