With over 15.000 hectare (37.000 acres) the municipality Venray is one of the 30 largest in the Netherlands. The municipality contents the city Venray and 10 small (church)villages surrounding the city center. 27.000 people are living in the city center and 12.000 in the surrounding villages.
The municipality Venray obtains 2500 hectare (6175 acres) of forrest and other nature areas. Most of these areas are in the north and west of the municipality. For villages see:
