The former Ediswan (?) Cable Works

Now derelict although previously used for many years by Reed Corrugated Cases and then later SCA Packaging. During the Second World War the factory was the Ediswan (?) Cable Works and amongst many materials used in the war they also produced the wire reinforced rubber hoses that were used for the PLUTO (pipeline under the ocean)system that enabled fuel and oil to be pumped directly to France for the Allied Invasion Forces on D Day 6th June 1944.
