  Name: Dweir- Lebanon Type: Geography - Cities Description: Doueir ou Dweir ou Ed Dweir Le nom de notre village trouve ses origines dans la langue syriaque (syriaque: ܣܘܪܝܝܐ [Suryâyâ]) Dwayr ou Dayyara Ce qui signifie le logement, le foyer, le domicile, le temple, ou la maison monastique,… Localisation: «Doueir» est un village qui se situe à l’ouest du «Nabatiyeh» sur la route qui lie l’intérieure du Sud libanais avec la côte à travers la raie «Abou Al Aswad», qui se trouve au Nord du «Tyr». Au dessus de 420 mètres de la mer, et avec une surface de 1000 Hectar près, ce village s’éloigne 6 km de la préfecture «Nabatiyeh» et 65 KM de la capitale «Beyrouth». Population: 7500 personnes des habitants sont enregistrées au «Doueir», tandis que le nombre des habitants augmente pour atteindre 11000 près pendant l’été, avec l’arrivée de ceux qui habitent à la capitale (en hiver). Ce village contient une corporation municipale composée de 15 personnes électives. Cette municipalité fait partie de l’union des municipilités du «Chkeif» ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ed Doueir is a town in the governorate of Nabatiyeh/south lebanon, north of Litani river. The origin of the name is the Syriac Language and it means the housing, resting place, temple or Monastery. Location : Doueir town is located to the west of Nabatiya on the road connecting the interior of the south with the coast thru Abu Alaswad crossroads at the north of Tyre. Rising from the sea about 420 meters and occupies an area of land around 1000 hectares , far about 6 km from the center of the governorate ( Nabatiya ) and around 65 km from the capital Beirut . Population : registered population are about seven thousand five hundred and this figure rises in the summer to be approximately 11000 people because of the incoming of people who live in Beirut during Winter. In the town there is the Municipality council consisting of fifteen elected members and Doueir is a member of the Union of Shkeif Municipalities . -------------------------------------------------- ######################### -------------------------------------------------- اصل الاسم: من السريانية dwayrاو dayyara وتعني المسكن والمثوى أو معبد ودار الرهبان. موقعها: تقع بلدة الدوير الى الغرب من النبطية على الطريق الذي يربط داخل الجنوب بالساحل عبر مفرق (اي الاسود) شمالي مدنية صور. ترتفع عن سطح البحر حوالي 420 مترا و تحتل مساحة من الارض نقارب الـ 1000 هكتار تبعد عن مركز المحافظة و القضاء 6 كم و عن العاصمة بيروت 65 كم. سكانها: يبلغ عدد سكانها المسجلين حوالي سبعة الاف و خمسماية نسمة و يرتفع هذا الرقم صيفا ليناهز الـ11000 نسمة بسبب قدوم ابناء البلدة الذين يسكنون العاصمة بيروت شتاءا. في بلدة الدوير مجلس بلدي منتخب مؤلف من خمسة عشرة عضوا، وهي عضو في إتحاد بلديات الشقيف.
