  We took the trip from this bus station to Cat Ba. It is a good bus, although you have to first take bus to Haiphong, where they drop you and then another funkier bus takes you a short distance to the water. Then you transfers to a small ferry that takes you across to Cat Ba. You get off there and then board another bus that takes you to Cat Ba town. This is not suitable for the high class big money tourist; however, it all comes together well and is good fun. I am glad that I went to Cat Ba, and this is by far the cheapest way to get there.
