This store opened in 2003 under parent J. Sainsbury as a flagship for the Shaw's Supermarket chain. The store declined after a few changes in hand, but in 2014, shortly after having been put back under the control of Albertsons, the store changed names to Star Market due to local heritage, doing a minor remodel in the process.
