The first three horse tram linea opened in Riga in 1882 year.
Line served 19 cabins and each of them was able to include 40 passengers.
Wagons speed was 10 km/h. Wagons were built in Riga, in Russian-Baltic wagon factory.
On 23 August 1882, The line opened between here and the town center.

Sculpture 'Horse-drawn omnibus' by Andris Vārpa was unveiled on April, 25th, 2009.
The three-metre high sculpture, which is made out of fragments of tramway rails remembers the first public transport in this area.
