The forest and adjacent area of Ghatte khola is known as Dawaipani.It is told that the water of of Ghatte khola contains some mineral which which healed the wound of a foreigner while travelling from that region and there after the region is known as Dawaipani.
According to census 2011 the population of the village was 1163 and only 228 houses was there but now both increase a lot.The road communication from 6th mile, 3rd mile & Through Takdah T.G make the place easily accssebile. A road from Lebong also connected to the lower part of the village.
At present it is a popular tourist spot and lot of home-stays are ready to welcome tourists.
