Puerto del Rosario is a Canarian municipality in the northern portion of the island of Fuerteventura in the Las Palmas province in the Canary Islands. Puerto del Rosario is also the capital of the island of Fuerteventura since 1835. The population is 28,357 (ISTAC, 2003), with a density of 39.43/km² which is expected to reach 100/km². The area is 289.95 km².
