Suau is an island off the south coast of Papua in the Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea.
Suau was the site of the first London Missionary Society mission in the Milne Bay region, established by James Chalmers and Rarotongan missionaries in 1878. Because of this the Suau language became a lingua franca in much of the Milne Bay region.
