Ramamurtynagar (ರಾಮಮೂರ್ತಿನಗರ) is an area in Bangalore in Indian state of Karnataka. It is located in North-East Bangalore and comes under E3 sub division of BBMP. It is a rapidly growing suburb, which is adjacent to other areas such as Banaswadi, Horamavu and Krishnarajapuram. The Krishnarajapuram railway station, an important railway junction in Bangalore, is just 1 km away.
Ramamurtynagar today is very strategically placed off the ring road and close to three important stations, K.R Puram, Banaswadi and Chansandra. Ramamurtynagar has a good number of layouts like Garden Street Layout, Akshayanagar, Muneshwara nagar, Bovi Colony,Pragathi Layout, Hoysalanagar, Dr Ambedkar nagar, Gundappa Layout, Raghavendra Circle etc.
Hospitals like Manipal and Koshy's and many schools are strategically located in Ramamurtynagar.
Large scale real estate development in Ramamurtynagar is also causing a lot of damage. The Gangadhar Kere (Kaudenahalli Lake) is being enroached destroying an area which was once rich in flora and fauna. Like the newly developing areas, there are no areas identified for gardens and parks Bangalore is famous for.
Water was also a serious issue. Borewells today have to be dug below 1000 ft to get water. Currently Ramamurtynagar is provided with BWSSB cauvery water connection.
Ramamurtynagar is well connected with the entire city in terms of transportation. BMTC runs along the 315 route to Ramamurtynagar. The nearest metro Baiyyappanahalli station is just 4 kms away.
