  10-12 May 1968,, Battle of Kham Duc actually started just south at Ngok Ta Vak where Major Mai's 40th Bn finally took the small out[post after the survivors were able to escape undetected during a Napalm air strike, Kham Duc was first reinforced then after high ground OP's were overrun, was decided to evacuate camp,, about a dozen A/C and 5 105mm guns were destroyed plus more POW/MIA's than any other battle of war. Several MIA's not retuned or accounted for,,, 2/1st Inf and "A" Co 1/46th were the reinforcements flown in, Bill S "A" Co 1/46th Inf.
