Ancestral home of an old family(the Verzosas?)in Vigan dating back in the early years of the Spanish regime. As known in history, Vigan retained most of its structures as it escaped bombings during WWII.The house retained its magnificent splendor and furnitures made out of "narra" and "molave" wood which is characteristic of Agustinian architecture. It is complete with the "carruaje" and "carrosa" extensively used during processions in town. The ground floor which used to house the horses has since been converted into dormitories in order to accommodate tourists. It is akin in architecture to Casa Manila in Intramuros as the city was established right after the founding of Manila by Legaspi and Salcedo (whose remains are interred at the San Agustin Church in Intramuros).Several movie picture companies use the house for location shootings!!It needs to be advertised to attract more tourists!!A must for locals to visit!!

  • Hi, Thanks for the write-up here in wikimapia about Villa Angela. Our surname's Verzosa though, not Versoza. Thanks again!
