This purpose built library originally opened in 1910. The building belongs to Bradford Council along with the adjacent car park to the rear of the building. The floor area is 450 square metres. In 2007 the library was awarded £1.5 million from Big Lottery's Community Libraries Programme. The newly refurbished and extended library reopened in July 2008 following a 9 month closure period.

The new library provides excellent facilities including meeting room, a self-service issuing facility, a community garden, public toilets and has a community project board. The library is the first in the district to be open 7 days each week. The library offers over 14,000 books and over 400 media items for loan.
