The Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, commonly called the Metrodome, was a domed sports venue located in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Opened in 1982, it replaced Metropolitan Stadium, which was on the current site of the Mall of America in Bloomington and Memorial Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus. The Metrodome was home to the National Football League's Minnesota Vikings from 1982 to 2013. It is scheduled to be replaced by a new stadium on the current site. The dome also hosted early season games for the Big Ten's University of Minnesota Golden Gophers baseball team. The stadium was also the home of the Minnesota Twins from 1982 to 2009, the Minnesota Timberwolves in their 1989-1990 inaugural season and the Golden Gophers football team from 1982 to 2008. In 2009, Mall of America purchased naming rights for the field at Metrodome, resulting in the field being called "Mall of America Field at Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome". The contract expired after the end of the 2011 Vikings season. It was demolished in April 2014.

  • This out dated multi-purpose stadium is the only building ever to have hosted a Superbowl, The World Series, The NCAA Final Four Men's basketball tourney, and an NBA Game. It also offers rollerblading around the concourses, monster truck rallies, and concerts, althouth the acoustics are terrible.
  • Also hosts lots of high school and small college baseball, small college football and even youth football.
  • Brett Farve Is Joining The Vikings.
  • The twins are done playing in the dome. They play at target field now. The football team for the gophers are playing at campus.
  • Also Called Mall of America field.
