"The Three Norns" is a monument -or a memorial- within the area of the "North Cemetery". The large sculptures are figures taken out of the Nordic mythology. (Ust, Urd und Verdhangi, their spelling is varying extremely.) The names might be interpreted as "Past, Presence and Future"-). The monument was erected in place of the Schlageter Monument, which was blown up after WW2 by order of the British occupation authorities.
