Rainier is a city in Columbia County, Oregon, United States. The population was 1,895 at the 2010 census.
It uniquely positioned being one hour from the coast, one hour from Portland and having bridge access to Washington and Canada. The Oregon side of the river is very rural and the Washington side is quite urban with big box stores. In a sense it is the best of both worlds. There are many beaches and a couple of pubs but otherwise there is not a lot to do.
