military, exposition, steam locomotive, tank on display

The train on display is a typical train by composition used in anti-aircraft tasks. The locomotive is a Tk 3 goods train locomotive without armour. The armoured version of It was in use during the war. It was placed in the middle of the train in order to give it some cover. On both ends of the train there were two goods wagons loaded with gravel, whose task was to detonate any mines placed under the rails, before the actual train reached the spot The first goods wagon in front of the locomotive was captured from the Reds in the Karelian Isthmus in the spring of 1918. The next wagon of 60 tons, the heaviest of all, Is the one captured in 1941 in Eastern Karelia during the offensive phase of the Continuation War. This wagon with two 76 mm guns was made by the Vyborg Engineering Works in 1913. The two armoured wagons behind the locomotive were made by the Reds in 1918 at the Railways Engineering Works in Pasila, Helsinki. Both of them have undergone frequent modification work after their manufacture. Apart from the locomotive the whole train has its original outlook, which the Finnish armoured trains had towards the end of the Continuation War. This train has no anti-aircraft weaponry, nor machine guns.

The wagon of the train with a gun was transferred to the Armour Museum on June 21,1969 and the other wagons on June 12,1984. The locomotive was transferred to Its place In the early 1990s
