One of 14 former BOMARC-B anti-aircraft missile intercept sites in the US. This site NE of Duluth at French River was in operation from 1961-1972, and at one time employed 300 people.
The missile base was operated by the 74th Air Defense Missile Squadron (BOMARC-B) out of the Duluth International Airport.
Now privately owned and used as a mini-storage. The rows of storage buildings you see are the actual split-roof missile launching buildings.
