Swan Island is a granite island with an area of 239 ha (591 ac; 0.92 mi²), located on the North-Eastern point of Tasmania in south-eastern Australia. It is part of the Waterhouse Island group, lying close to the north-eastern coast of Tasmania. Swan Island, like many islands in Bass Strait, has been subject of a number of shipwrecks, the first being 'Brenda' in 1832.
In 2004, the island was auctioned off to a couple from New South Wales for approximately $2 million AUD, and the owners now reside on the island tending to the tourist guesthouse located there.
