Degla Group’s recent addition to the affordable housing market in 6th of October City is Degla Palm, a 500-Acres residential community of more than 34,000 housing units in a pedestrian-scaled environment where landscaping of the foot paths, road networks, plazas, and open spaces integrates the built community with the natural features of its surroundings. The built-up area of this city within 6th of October City occupies 18 percent of the land area. In addition to expansive green areas for residents’ leisure and recreational uses, the community is supported by social clubs, sports and entertainment facilities, retail space, a magnificent shopping mall, healthcare facilities, and kindergarten, primary, and secondary schools. The community is being developed in four phases and contributes significantly towards the goals of President Hosni Mubarak’s National Housing Project for Youth.
