This is a block of flats known as "546 Mehelle" or "546 kvartal" (in russian). This block consists of 6 separate buildings, 3 of which are adjacent to each other. These buildings recently gained notorious popularity. As they are located in a very attractive spot, the government officials want to pull them down and build new-buildings. There are 200 hundred families living in them right now. The government literally wants to kick these families out of their homes without offering proper compensation. They just promise to give these families flats in the new building. And during the construction of it, which should take for two years, the families should rent a flat on their own using the allowance offered by officials. The people who live their are strongly against it as their basic rights for acommodation and living are being violated. More about it you can read on webpage if you google "546 mehelle"
