Burning Cliff

Burning Cliff is an area of disturbed geology, complete with the Holworth discontinuity, which at one time spontaneously caught fire due to the decomposition of iron pyrites and the subsequent ignition of the oil shale (Kimmeridge clay).
It does not burn now unless someone sets fire to it. However, there are places, further along the coast, where you can see burning rocks.
