Clanwilliam Dam

South Africa / Western Cape / Vredendal /

It was built between 1932-1935 as an irrigation dam and is pretty much a natural spot for a dam, needing only a small wall (38 Meters high from base) to block the water at one end. It was raised by a further 6m in 1966.

It holds about 125 Million liters of water.
