The Indian Land Customs Station has a pool, a park, a large vegetable plot, and a commemorative tablet set up by the Punjab History Association of Guru Nank Dev University, Amritsar. This tablet with fitting quotations from Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Amrita Pritam, moans the unnecessary death of the countless thousands who were killed on both sides in 1947-8.

The rabble rousing foul macho show of aggression put up by both sides every evening at this border is indecent. Strange, how crowds lap it up!
