Pandansimo beach is located at Poncosari Village, Srandakan, more or less 20 kilometres on the southwest of Bantul. It is situated near Progo River, and is the most western beach of the Southern beach in Bantul region.

The big waves, mystical athmophere with many sacred places, fishermen sailing on the hard ocean, are some of the interesting scenery for tourists. Apart from the beautiful beach panorama, there is also pilgrimage places in Pandansimo beach such as Pandanpayung and Pandansari. One of interesting activities that attracts tourists is that they can shop or buy fish directly from the fishermen.

The name Pandansimo itself originates from the words "pandan" (pandan tree) and "simo" (tiger). There can also be found some cultural attractions such as traditional ceremony of Merti Dusun, offering ceremony by the Pandansimo fishermen, and several other cultural performances. That is a small part of the enjoyment and pleasurement in the middle of fishermen's life at Pandansimo beach. Just pay the entrance ticket for more or less Rp 2.000 per person, you might enjoy the life of fishermen with simplicity.
