Although the official Apu Festival in Angeles City is held in October (in commemoration of Christ), there is a celebration of sorts that takes place every Friday near the chapel where the statue is located. The highlight is the Apu Market, which is truly one of a kind. Every Friday, stores and stands appear everywhere near the vicinity of the chapel (making up the Apu Market). There you can purchase everything from cheap clothes to local handicraft to house decors, etc. At 12 midnight, everything is packed up, to resume the following Friday.

Bargaining is the norm here and all sellers will bargain. Number one rule - Bargain with a smile, play it as game and you'll be surprised at the results. Many Pilipino work long hours, so they appreciate a smile and good humor and you'll get better bargains. Shop around a little first to assess the general level of prices. After the seller has offered his price, offer less than you would expect to pay (with a smile of course) and gauge the reaction.

Don't lose your temper or be unpleasant. Once you've decided on a price, if there are other items you're interested in, try to get a package price to cut the cost for the best bargain you've ever had!!
