The Union Church, built by the Adventist Society in 1870-71 at a cost $9,300, was shared with the Baptist Society.

The building was purchased by the library in 1913 and given to the town, with the stipulation that space would always be available for the library, an arrangement which worked well for 70 years, until the library bought the residence next door and moved there.

Town Offices are on the first floor. The former sanctuary on the second floor is now a 400-seat theatre (with proscenium stage and painted curtain), which serves as Town Hall, used for the bi-weekly Select Board Meetings and the annual Town Meeting.
