In the time period of 1993-2003 the place of a custom house. Nowadays what still remains in this place it's a borderguards check point. Travellers crossing this checkpoint should show their documents if they go to Norway (or Borisoglebsk), and stop for passengers counting if they go from Norway (show documents if they go from Borisoglebsk)

The place is attractive for some business. Here is the nearest place to Norway along the road which is outside of the border control strip (ITS), it is situated at the crossroad, by this not very far from both Nikel and Zapolyarnyy
