This simple multi-pillar steel trellis bridge carries the 2 lane Federal highway BR-101 across the River São Francisco close by the town of Propriá in the state of Sergipe. The bridge was built some 3 or 4 decades ago.

The bridge also carries a single track railway line down the centre of the road. This railway is, in August 2006, largely unused for any kind of traffic, and this stretch of track has in fact been isolated from the rest of the railway network to the north since the early 2000s by a collapsed bridge across the River Mundaú in the town of Rio Largo, near Maceió, some 150kms to the north.
