Lam Phra Ploeng Reservoir (Lam means creek, Phra Ploeng means fire and Lam Phra Ploeng means Creek of Fire). The Creek of Fire Reservoir is in Amphur Pak Thong Chai (meaning: Post Flag of Victory), District of Nakhon Raja Sima. In 1963, a dam was built across the Lam Phra Ploeng Creek as an earth dam of 50-m height and 575 m. crest length able to impound water by 152 million cubic meters. Completed in 1970, the dam can benefit the cultivated areas of 13,593 ha in the wet season and 3,200 ha in the dry season. Moreover, by the dam construction, flood disaster in the Lam Phra Ploeng and Mun river basins was alleviated as well.
