This area was famous for a kareez (well-like water management system) system which is thought to be still there. During the Great Patriotic War (WWII) the locals used to hunt for pigeons in these kareez-wells to survive the hunger.Till 1970-75 there was an aul (collective farm) of a name of Budyonny.
