Konar dam is the second of the four multi-purpose dams included in the first phase of the Damodar Valley Corporation.. It was constructed across the Konar River, a tributary of the Damodar River in Hazaribagh district in the Indian state of Jharkhand and opened in 1955.[1]

Konar Dam is 4,535 metres (14,879 ft) long and 48.77 metres (160.0 ft) high. The reservoir covers an area of 27.92 sq km

  • I am resident of Konar Dam.It is beautiful place.People are innocent.Most of the people migrate to big towns in search of their livelyhood. I have seen many places across India but no place is as beautiful as Konar Dam.People should take initiative to revive this place as tourist place. Regards
  • Its a heaven on earth. If really taste the nature, come to this place and spare some time in the midst of the forest. The same goes when you stand beside to the shores of the Dam.
  • In rainy season it's good time watch, what's the exactly beauty of dam. I think U really love to walk besides the dam
