A sanctuary is first cited in 1302. In 1772 the church was declared "obsolete". In 1777, one agrees to rebuild a new nave, larger, without bell-tower, with refitting of the chorus and "aération" of sacristy. Shortly before the 1st World War, the city council decides to build a tower. This building was destroyed during the 1st World War with the exception of the sacristy, Gothic style (14th century). During the reconstruction completed in 1927 under the direction of the architect Becker of Mulhouse, the elevation of the tower is simplified.
