The church is located on a hill surrounded by the cemetery that appears to have once been fortified. A chapel's ossuary was still in 1870, the bell tower in the corner of the choir and the nave is Romanesque, and its basement correspond to a Roman watchtower. The nave and the choir today seem to date from the 18th century, in 1865 was a project for the expansion and restoration of the tower by Jean-Baptiste Schacre; about 1868, 1870 was a restoration project by architect Nicolas Risler Tournier of Mulhouse.
